About Me

I’m Ben. Ben Norkin, if you want to be formal about it. I’m a licensed Architect. And a teacher. And a student, a parent, a Navy veteran. I love learning, and I love sharing what I have learned. From designing contemporary net-zero-ready homes to humble residential additions; from completing a Master’s thesis to A.R.E. exams, I have picked up a lot over the last five years, and I’m excited to be able to share it with you. I teach architecture as well, and I always stress to my students that I am just like they are…only a few years into the future. I’ll be sharing all the information about architecture exam prep (and more) I could’ve used back then, right here.

Got a quick question about this site, your exams, your Revit project or your passion project side-gig? Send me an email. I want to help. If you need some more personalized attention visit my online calendar to book a 1-hour consult. I'll help you get from here to there, wherever that is for you!

WHY Hyperfine Academy

I like to create. I like to teach. I like to solve problems. Hyperfine lets me do all three.

But what is Hyperfine Academy?

Hyperfine celebrates the big differences even small actions can make. It only takes a second to make a good decision, to reverse a bad one, to learn something new, to start a new path. And if you’ve got a few seconds, Hyperfine also celebrates the act of designing, investigating a new challenge, and learning something new. Like this: There’s an atomic-level interaction known as Hyperfine Structure. When this process repeats 9.2 billion times, you have reached one second. You’re familiar with seconds, did you know how much was going on in each one?

Can you dedicate one percent of your time to a goal today? That’s only 864 seconds. Whether its design, or Revit, or structures, or building code, or any of the million things an Architect needs to know in order to make deliberate and creative decisions, you’re not going to get it all on the first day. You’re going to get there one second at a time, starting now…
